Happy 314 Day! Ideas For Celebrating St. Louis Today

Happy March 14th! To many, today is Pi Day, but in St. Louis, it is also 314 Day after our region’s most common area code and a wonderful excuse to celebrate all things local!

There’s always the efficient two in one option and opt for a local pie of all sorts - Pi Pizza, Dottie’s Flour Shop, Imo’s Pizza, and several bakeries or coffee shops around town such as Colleen’s have you covered there depending on whether you’re going for a sweet pie, a pizza pie or something savory like quiche. May sweets places that don’t usually do pie, like Nathaniel Reid Bakery, will whip some options up specifically for today.

Bruch and Dinner at a local spot are always a good bet for celebrating local. There are several places doing food specials today such as T-Rav Tacos at Mission Taco or massive STL-themed burgers at 3 Kings Pub. Ian Forbe’s 100 Best Restaurants list is always a good place to go for local fare inspiration and the Newlywed Chefs on are quick to share local restaurant specials.

Then there the local small businesses who always need our love. Shopping local is another great way to celebrate 314 Day and many of your favorites are having sales. If you’ve had your eye on something for a while - now’s a great time to hit the checkout button. We list a number of wonderful makers in our Women’s Day Article and Small Business Saturday post among others, but some of the sales we’ve noticed is a discount at Collections by Joya, a Sticker discount from Emily Stahl Design Co, and St. Louis Shirts at Mod Co.

There still aren’t as many events and activities as there would have been in the “before-times” of COVID-19, but as more of us get vaccinated and the weather gets warmer we’ll get our groove back! Two safe things to note: the St. Louis Wheel is offering a discount on tickets and there is a maker fest put on by the Women’s Collective and STL Made at City Foundry. There’s also all our wonderful local museums and parks to go enjoy!

Regardless, it’s still a fabulous day to go enjoy our beautiful, unique city! Happy 314 Day!
